2024 MCCC Library Services

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the Spring 2024 semester!

The MCCC Libraries are available at the West Windsor, James Kerney, and Dempster campuses and can be accessed 24/7/365 online at this email address: library @mccc.edu

Our role is to serve as the extended classroom where your students can continue to read, study, and apply your classroom lessons. Please contact us to describe your learning, teaching or research needs. We are happy to help and provide the resources your students need to be successful in your classes.

Our services and resources include:

Copyright Clearance Services: Please make sure that what you copy, post to Blackboard, or assign meets copyrights use requirements. Librarians can assist you in determining if your use is within compliance. Contact us at: library @mccc.edu

Research Services: Please let us know when you are making an assignment so that there are adequate copies ready for student use either in print or available electronically. If you are compiling a list of research topics, we can assist you and make the work much easier to locate what you may want for your instructional purpose. Contact us at: library @mccc.edu

Information Literacy: Today more than ever students need to know how to access facts and verifiable information. Our instructional program offers that instruction and more for our students. If you would like to schedule a class, please send your request to: struzynm@mccc.edu and provide the date, time and room number for your class. A librarian will conduct an information class for you or if you prefer, we can prepare a LibGuide - like this for your class for you to post to Blackboard, or we can send you a Powerpoint or YouTube video to share with your class. It's your choice, just let us know what you need.

Textbook Collection: In support of student success, we recognize that not all students have their textbooks for the first day of class and sometimes even the first few weeks of class. For those students, the library has one copy of most textbooks used in the heaviest enrolled courses. Please check with the library access department at: srinathl@mccc.edu to determine if your textbook is available for students to use in the library only after showing their current MCCC ID.

Database and eBook Collection: The library offers over 60 databases covering a wide range of disciplines for your research and the research needs of our students. You can browse our database holdings by going to this URL: https://www.mccc.edu/student_library_online.shtml  There are other electronic resources that may not be listed but are accessible just by asking a librarian. Via the eBook collection, there are over 100,000 books including reference books for your information needs.

Library Computer Lab: Both the West Windsor and James Kerney Campus have open computer labs for students to access online classes or complete assignments. They are accessible when the libraries are open.

Book Exchange: Did you recently read a good book you would like to share with others? Bring it to the library circulation desk and we will put it on the Book Exchange shelves so others may enjoy what you have. While there, take a look and help yourself to what others have shared and had placed on the book exchange shelves.
