News Medical, an open-access health and sciences publication, defines health disparities as "the inequalities that occur in the provision of healthcare and access to healthcare across different racial, ethnic and socioeconomic groups." To learn more, click the link above.

Minority Health and Health Disparities: Definitions and Parameters
The National Intitute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHHD) defines minority health as "the distinctive health characteristics and attributes of racial and/or ethnic minority groups, as defined by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB), that can be socially disadvantaged due in part to being subject to potential discriminatory acts."
