AI Risk Management Framework released January 26, 2023: https://nvlpubs.nist.gov/nistpubs/ai/NIST.AI.100-1.pdf

Four Focuses

The first version of the Risk Management Framework focuses on four “high-level functions:" govern, map, measure and manage. Due to the pace at which AI technologies are developing, the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) will review and update this framework every six months.

These broad categories include suggestions on how to evaluate AI for legal and regulatory compliance, collect information about how the technology uses third-party software and data, quantify and track AI risks over time, and allocate resources to mitigate any potential risks highlighted during the processing of assessing the technology.

The framework is accompanied by a draft Playbook that offers examples on how to implement the guidance.

ChatGPT Is a Privacy Disaster Waiting To Happen

Below is a link to a blog on ChatGPT and privacy by Glyn Moody. His bio includes that he is a freelance journalist who writes and speaks about privacy, surveillance, digital rights, open source, copyright, patents and general policy issues involving digital technology. He started covering the business use of the Internet in 1994, and wrote the first mainstream feature about Linux, which appeared in Wired in August 1997. His book, "Rebel Code," is the first and only detailed history of the rise of open source, while his subsequent work, "The Digital Code of Life," explores bioinformatics - the intersection of computing with genomics.

One of the biggest problems with ChatGPT concerns your privacy and almost nobody’s talking about it. The service can collect and process highly sensitive details from the prompts you provide, associate that information with your email and phone number, and store it all indefinitely.
